What's up, doc?
written on Friday, 22nd March 2013 [at] 1:03am |
So I figured seeing as its been three years and all that I should probably make an updated list of my fandoms. Why not?
Old fandoms that I still love in no real order: - Pirates of the Caribbean - Once Upon a Time in Mexico - The Boondock Saints - X-Men - Buffy - True Blood - Oomph! - Anything that involves Warren Ellis - Hellblazer - Burn Notice
New Fandoms, still in no order: - Justified - Supernatural - The Walking Dead - James Bond (Daniel Craig) - White Collar
That's all I can remember right now, but I've been distracted watching Raylan and Boyd.

Wow. Just wow.
Things. It's almost 3am and I've just finished episode 1 of season 6 of Supernatural.
It's been three years since my last post here. I really shouldn't be surprised that my friends' list is so empty.
I'd forgotten about my really very nice icons.
I don't have a job. Was fired in January and finding something new is a bitch. However, I've still managed to develop something of a wine habit that has just recently turned into a wine-and-cigar habit thanks to the corruptive influence of my husband.
I have a pet snake now. He is a ball python and his name is Kaa. I also have a chinchilla named Bunny and a dog named Kitty. It's a Thing, apparently.
The other day I made a different LJ, but this was my first. And it's always been my favorite.

Something beautiful for you to watch.

www.lifeskate.com/skate/2010/04/johnny-weir-heartbroken-video.htmlJohnny was the headliner at Ice Theatre of New York's 2010 Home Season Opening Night and this is his first ice appearance in NYC post-Olympics. Founded in 1984 by Moira North, Ice Theatre of New York (ITNY) is a not-for-profit ice dance company which merges ice skating and dance in traditional and avant-garde ways. If you want to see wonderful examples of both, I recently did a piece about their free lunch time concert series at Rockefeller Skating Rink, so click here if you'd like to watch. Johnny created a new piece called Heartbroken to celebrate ITNY's home season opening night. In addition, he also performed fan-favorite Bad Romance by Lady Gaga.

Hey, what's this button do?

You know what? It's been so long since I updated my journal that I couldn't even remember if my journal was friends' locked or not. How sad is that? It's not like I've got anything to say. I'd tell you who I'm fangirling, but it's been so long that I imagine the only person that'll pay attention already knows who it is. :D But just in case, and I'm quoting the girls over on ontd_skating, this is a GQMF right here... Yes, I didn't cut it. Cut me some slack, it's been FOREVER. Just look at the pretty and enjoy it. I'd totally do a picspam if there was anyone left to appreciate it.

Fic Experiment
written on Tuesday, 20th October 2009 [at] 1:03pm |
So, I had this idea yesterday. It was the result of thinking about the Twitter-fic that Neil Gaiman did last week, because it usually takes a while for ideas like that to melt around my brain. I don't have a lot of access to Twitter during the day, just because I'm at work and I don't have a data plan for my phone, so there's no Twitter on my phone. I do, however, have texting. So my idea is this - collaborative fiction, 160 characters at a time. Someone starts by texting 160 characters (or as close as you can get without going over) to another someone. That someone replies with another 160 characters. The rules as I have made them are thus: - 160 characters, no more. Less is acceptable, but try to get as close to that 160 as possible.
- No txt spk. No cheating on your 160 characters by using shoddy grammar and punctuation and spelling.
- Pre-planning is acceptable, I guess, but I think it misses the point. This is strictly a creative exercise. Be creative, not necessarily organized.
I've already started one with mlewys just to see how it goes, but I like the idea. And, once the fic is done, it can be printed out and left with a Creative Commons license on it, using the Don't Look zine format. If you're interested in playing with me, give me a text. If you don't have my number, just leave a comment and I'll email/private message/whatever you with my cell phone number.

U2 and Green Day The Saints Are Coming video

U2 and Green Day The Saints Are Coming videoShared via AddThisIt's Tuesday night and THANK GOD. Day off tomorrow. Too bad mlewys is in Portland and not going to be online with me. Sadness. I still haven't written anything for that prompt that I posted myself. Maybe I'll get off my lazy ass and do that tomorrow, along with the laundry and the taking the cat to the vet and whatever else comes up. So excited. No, I take that back. I actually am, because I need to do laundry for hubby's trip this weekend. Which means that I'll get some time to MYSELF after the kids have gone to bed. Which is kind of exciting. I can rewatch all my True Blood again. Yay.

HANDWRITTEN UPDATE!
written on Friday, 25th September 2009 [at] 10:45pm |
Hrahahaha. This is so cool. I get to handwrite my online journal. I love technology. And hey, I can handwrite code too. cheek it out here. Ok, that actually took alot of work. But still awesome. of course I type faster than I write, but this is fun. I guess I'll stop showing off now, as I really don't have anything to write about. Someone give me a (flash) story prompt so I can write more!
